  Dramatically playful, detail oriented, wholesome with slight sexiness, colorful and sweet. The Fifties was fundamentally a time of conformity, you won't find anything wild or risqué on these pages. Think of it as good, clean, wholesome stuff. Instead of lingerie think night shirts, instead of mini skirts, think at the knee length skirts, instead of shorts think trousers and you'll get the idea.

That's my take on the fifties fashion (or atleast, that's how I understand it) Correct me if I'm wrong but when I think about the 50's it reminds me so much of the movie Pleasantville. Well, yeah, I know, that movie was so gone-and-done years ago. It was released way back 1998 ( when I was hmm...ten years old and just about to hit puberty! Haha). I remember myself not only putting an eye on the scenes but drooling (emphasis on the word) over what every character is wearing (specially Reese's or Jennifer's). Beautiful dresses, skirts in bloom, array of trousers. Name it, this movie has it. 

and as for my fifties inspired look. This. I took inspiration from the movie and of-to-course with twists and turns, I made it more me. Showed a little sun kissed skin, styled my hair a bit with a fish tail braid for an added effect and focused more on the whole idea of the conservative 50's era. I also wore my DIY crystal ball necklace for the first time, which I think will be a big hit this season too (fashion forecast right there) and oh I just have to mention this, that trousers on me is actually a pajama from GAP and that top is actually a swimsuit (no, i'm not kidding) See! all the possibilities in dressing up are just right there, it's about for us to find out and make way to use it.

So...Have I given the movie justice or not? What can you say about this look?

I’m pretty sure no woman can live without fashionable sandals (can you?). Every woman (and gays) aims of having gorgeous, stylish sandals that they can wear for casual days or even for a formal event or night out parties(or even at work or at school). Sandals used to mean flat shoes with straps that were made for all day easy wear. But today they have evolved into one of the top fashion trends available because of its very versatile designs hence, the comfort that it brings.

Undeniably, we can agree that we really love owning any kind of sandals whether it’s flat or a high heel one (I go for flat down to earth ones, usually even if I look so small on ‘em haha!), most especially this season where we opt to sometimes or once-in-a-while give time for our happy feet to breathe and inhale fresh air (call it a close shoes day off). 

I’m guilty of charge for being obsessed with this footwear now-a-days. I’ve invested on five pairs already and it had been my feet’s best friend since the beginning of Summer. Take it from me. They are very stylish, comfortable and easy to wear as it can be greatly pair with nearly any kind of outfit.

Woke up an hour late - the perfect five words to define this whole Saturday School Day outfit.

What to do, when you only have zero minutes to get ready for school? I figured five simple steps and thought I should share it with you ladies, mind you! These are based on nothing factual but my experience! (hahaha)

Step one, look for that one-lazy-yet-loud-dress you have in your closet and put it on as quickly as you can (a tribal dress is a score). Step Two, grab a blazer that match (It's also a must for me that day because the weather is well, bipolar as usual). Three, wear a nude pair of shoes (just because it goes well with everything, every...thing!). Four, spend fifteen second or so to choose your accessories and Five, don't change your bag from yesterday (the easiest step there is! Haha!).

and oh may I just add another important step here. Step six, ask your fab friends/classmates (Thanks Marj and Cham)  to take your outfit pictures just to make all the other steps count!

So there! Hope this quick enumeration helps, somehow! Leaving you now with this entry before I head out to Tagaytay to spend the long weekend with my family! :)
