Bright Ideas

|HYPE this look on Lookbook.nu HERE and on Chictopia HERE|
 |DIY neon skirt, DIY Clutch Bag, Pin from Fabgelous, Borrowed denim polo from my sister, Topshop Lace Top|

Last weekend defiantly pushed me to crave for something that could give me a ray of light. Something  fun. Something wild. Something striking...

Something Neon!

From neon nails to electric shoes, from Prabal Gurung to Micheal Kors collection, the fact that it made a huge rage last Summer and will definitely have its fame continues until this coming rainy season is not actually new to all of us. It's the "illuminata" (or glow in a lighter chictionary term) effect that it brings, that makes it a wardrobe vital even in the 80's (fashion history check).

By combining fluorescent yellow, pink, and orange Stabilo highlighter hues with denim and lace, I don a lady-like approach in this season's fresh and modern hit, Thinking...Why blend in with the gloomy weather when you can instantly lighten up any soul and make use of this trend's show-stopping power? (Bright idea right?) *wink*

P.S

So...have you gotten the Neon Fever too? What do you think about this look?

A loud and special shout out to my lovey, Tina! She took these photos in between rain  showers and in the midst of partying at the Status Magazine's event last Saturday. Watch out for more about that and BU3 on my next post.

Down To Earth

I’m pretty sure no woman can live without fashionable sandals (can you?). Every woman (and gays) aims of having gorgeous, stylish sandals that they can wear for casual days or even for a formal event or night out parties(or even at work or at school). Sandals used to mean flat shoes with straps that were made for all day easy wear. But today they have evolved into one of the top fashion trends available because of its very versatile designs hence, the comfort that it brings.

Undeniably, we can agree that we really love owning any kind of sandals whether it’s flat or a high heel one (I go for flat down to earth ones, usually even if I look so small on ‘em haha!), most especially this season where we opt to sometimes or once-in-a-while give time for our happy feet to breathe and inhale fresh air (call it a close shoes day off).

I’m guilty of charge for being obsessed with this footwear now-a-days. I’ve invested on five pairs already and it had been my feet’s best friend since the beginning of Summer. Take it from me. They are very stylish, comfortable and easy to wear as it can be greatly pair with nearly any kind of outfit.

So tell me, are you a big fan of sandals too? What's your say with this whole look?

P.S
Another warm round of thank you to Marj for these set of photos! and oh it's Thursday already, hope everyone's having a beautiful week so far. Two more push til' weekend dolls!

Nikki

Spearmint

Necklace, Froever 21 rings|

Sugar, spice and all things pastel.

When we were just little girls our loyalty to pink was unrivaled and anything with flowery detail, may it be big or small, made us feel like a princess (more like a Barbie for me!).

Our taste may have undergone an extreme evolution but there's still something compelling in coveting pastel-hued, delicate, eye-cooling pieces reminiscent of Marie Antoinette (Oh btw, do you guys know that she was wearing mules the day when she was executed? She does! and it's pastel purple in colour. Aww! her style was something she won't bargain for even at her dying time. She's a real Queen!)

With flores de' mayo (I remember myself being at one when I was three. Don't ask how I looked like! haha)  and the recent Mother's Day on calendar as inspirations, there's no perfect time than the maiden month of  May to fetch something sweet, simple and plain pretty.

What do you think about this look?

P.S

Photo's were taken by no other than the lovely blogger of All That Glitters, my sister in blogging, Marj Ramos (I know you guys see that coming hihi) What else can I say, It was one of those fun after-class outfit shoot bonding at SoFA. As usual! :)

Nikki

Take Me To The Festival

|HYPE this look on LOOKBOOK.nu here and on CHICTOPIA here|

Let me start this post with a question.

How long has I been gone from the blogosphere?

I can't even tell how long exactly. I'm sure it hasn't been a decade. Though, trust me, it was way too longer than that in my end! (insert sad face here)

Yes, I missed everyone/everything! and No, I haven't grown white hairs yet...not just yet! (hahaha) nor did I suffered from Alzheimer or dementia or any type of memory loss to forget that I have a should-be-updated-often blog which I really love and would want to grace spontaneity with, however, due to my extremely cray April schedule (school work school and uhm..work), I failed. As for the result? A serious, embarrassing case of Hiatus.

If this calls for an apology, I'd request to let this supposed to be posted earlier last month be one of that. It's all about Coachella Festival. I'm a hundred and one percent sure that you are not only familiar with it but you, right at this very moment is dreaming about being in this music and fashion combined paradise. I mean...who on earth wouldn't? I for one, have dreamed of being in it for god only knows how many times already, Seriously! I woke up one April morning and all I could think of is what outfit will i wear if and only if-ever I will go to Coachella which is by the way, gazillion of miles away from Manila. Wishful thinking it is.

Well, to give myself less pity. I somehow managed to take a little mental trip to California and let myself feel the festival vibe for a day. That's where this whole outfit of the day came from. It's pretty pretentious and daring but I'm all out for the fun! What do you think? :)

Nikki

Trending : Spring Metallics

Are you someone like me who always get attracted to shiny things? Well, this week’s trend post is for you, Say Bonjour! to all things sparkly and eye-popping let’s speak Metallica! Metallics is a trend that dominates the recent New York and Paris Fashion Week. You can see it every where from Marc Jacobs to Pabral Gurung and other fashion gods and godesses. It’s a time less trend, and in my percepts, it will stay in my wardrobe forevah, I bet in yours too?

Here are some pieces I put together with the use of polyvore, and in addition, some tips on how you can work with it, Enjoy! ;)

First Look : Color Block With Metallics

I put together colorful pieces. Metallics are sparkly, so when combined with busy colors, the effect might be a little contradicting. The key is to choose a simple shiny piece, like a plain gold top and pair it with a colorful bottoms add accessories and pair it with a printed bag like a Polka Satchel and a bright shoes…Voila! Color Block achieved.

Second Look : Get That Evening Sparkle

This look is for those who party at night and wouldn’t want to be in a sexy/daring tight fitting party dress. The color combo is a bit dark so adding a bright color is a must. I included a bright fuschia Satchel. You may wonder why? Satchel for a party? YES. Why not? :)

Third Look : The Sweet Gold Digger

Don’t get me wrong with this looks’ title. I want to emphasize here the soft yet fem side of metallic trend. It’ cleqn, subtle and sophisti-cute. I think what gives this look the sparkly oomph are those pair of wedges.Do you see yourself wearing this?

Fourth Look: Walking like Sun Shine

This set of look give the total shine package. A metallic top, metallic pants, a sequined cardigan and plated flats. I like how they blend with each other, its casual  edgy and classy at the same time. For college girls out there, you should try putting together pieces like these.

Fifth Look : Yearn for the Sheen

This look got me yearning for all the sparkly shoes. If you’ll opt of wearing a simple dress or that little black dress in your closet, make sure you’ll pair it with an over the top shoes. Try wearing gold, silver or sequined for an instant polish.

Metallic Dresses

Metallic Bottoms

Metallic Shoes

Sequined Clutches (my favorite)

P.S

Which Look is your favorite?
If you love this trend as much as I do, you’re free to send me a photo of you wearing it and I will feature you in line with this post. Email me at nicole_alejandro@hotmail.com

I’ll leave you guys with a quote for now “Don’t let other people steal your shine from you, make sure you always carry your sparkly eyes and your brightest smile” :)

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Kisses,
Nikki
