Extra Goofy

Eye Popping Colors. Bright contrasting hues. Winsy prints. Stop me before I fill this post up with those very summer worthy adjectives.

Don’t you just love how this season could give us unexceptional possibilities to dress up? From splices of patterns to solid color blocking to yummy pastels, I could zaberously go on and on and on…and on to name it all up!!!

|Forever 21 Top, Q&A Skirt, Casio Vintage Watch, Privilege Ankle Strap Shoes, Thirfted Accessories, Accessorize Bracelet|

and as much as I am close to despise how sultry (note 34°C here) it is in Manila lately, I couldn’t help but dress more often. I don’t know if it has really something to do with my more feminine sense of clothing, but I noticed that I have more clothes for hot days than for cold ones. It’s a closet domination.

Got me? If you did, well maybe you’re just like me who let summer clothes take over her closet, don’t worry coz that’s a good thing, I guess! (hihi) Is it? So we gotta do what we gotta do, let’s take those clothes out and wear ‘em! :)

 - on to my outfit now. I wore this to one of my friend’s (read closest girlfriend) birthday party at Distillery last weekend and I’d love to share this photo to all of you, just because I’m “extra goofy” here (I always look serious in my outfit shots, that’s me trying to do fierce shots or..not haha) but realistically, I am more likely the person in this photo :

Those are spreads of moisten chocolate cake on our front teeth! hihihihi! ;)

P.S
Don’t forget to join my ongoing give away and Thanks a bunch to those who joined already.

P.PS
Do me a favor and like Inside The Closet’s new FB page HERE. I felt the need to make a page to separate INC’s perks from my personal account. Sweet Thanks to you! :)

Happy Weekend!

Trending : Spring Metallics

Are you someone like me who always get attracted to shiny things? Well, this week’s trend post is for you, Say Bonjour! to all things sparkly and eye-popping let’s speak Metallica! Metallics is a trend that dominates the recent New York and Paris Fashion Week. You can see it every where from Marc Jacobs to Pabral Gurung and other fashion gods and godesses. It’s a time less trend, and in my percepts, it will stay in my wardrobe forevah, I bet in yours too?

Here are some pieces I put together with the use of polyvore, and in addition, some tips on how you can work with it, Enjoy! ;)

First Look : Color Block With Metallics

I put together colorful pieces. Metallics are sparkly, so when combined with busy colors, the effect might be a little contradicting. The key is to choose a simple shiny piece, like a plain gold top and pair it with a colorful bottoms add accessories and pair it with a printed bag like a Polka Satchel and a bright shoes…Voila! Color Block achieved.

Second Look : Get That Evening Sparkle

This look is for those who party at night and wouldn’t want to be in a sexy/daring tight fitting party dress. The color combo is a bit dark so adding a bright color is a must. I included a bright fuschia Satchel. You may wonder why? Satchel for a party? YES. Why not? :)

Third Look : The Sweet Gold Digger

Don’t get me wrong with this looks’ title. I want to emphasize here the soft yet fem side of metallic trend. It’ cleqn, subtle and sophisti-cute. I think what gives this look the sparkly oomph are those pair of wedges.Do you see yourself wearing this?

Fourth Look: Walking like Sun Shine

This set of look give the total shine package. A metallic top, metallic pants, a sequined cardigan and plated flats. I like how they blend with each other, its casual  edgy and classy at the same time. For college girls out there, you should try putting together pieces like these.

Fifth Look : Yearn for the Sheen

This look got me yearning for all the sparkly shoes. If you’ll opt of wearing a simple dress or that little black dress in your closet, make sure you’ll pair it with an over the top shoes. Try wearing gold, silver or sequined for an instant polish.

Metallic Dresses

Metallic Bottoms

Metallic Shoes

Sequined Clutches (my favorite)

P.S

Which Look is your favorite?
If you love this trend as much as I do, you’re free to send me a photo of you wearing it and I will feature you in line with this post. Email me at nicole_alejandro@hotmail.com

I’ll leave you guys with a quote for now “Don’t let other people steal your shine from you, make sure you always carry your sparkly eyes and your brightest smile” :)

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Kisses,
Nikki

Doctor Hart

Channeling Doctor Zoe from Hart of Dixie in this set of looks. It made it more obvious and not doubtful enough that Yes, I am hooked with this series. I like how I can relate to those medical terms ( uhm..it’s the nurse in me talking here) and what made it more likeable is not only the story and everything that’s going on in there but most of all — it’s the girl behind this post’s existence… My forever style icon, Rachel Bilson. (I’ve j’adore her since OC days) Who wouldn’t fall in love with her wit and style?!

With that overly chic blazer paired with high waist shorts, Doctor Zoe made it to the top of the most stylish surgeon ever ( that’s on my list) She gives off the perfect definition of how you can look casual yet professional. That said, I’m hoping that somehow, I was able to give justice with the title that I used through this look which btw, I wore at SoFa two Saturdays ago! I’ve given it justice or not? Less the heels, What’s your say? ;)

P.S

A sweet shout out to my blogger sis Marj of All That Glitters for taking this set of photos. (I love how I was able to have a friend, a classmate, a sister and a photographer in one) Thanks Sis! <3

On Repeat!

I channeled a hippie bohemian vibe today since the weather was extremely hot. I also got to use my new baby, my first Platform from Jelly Bean!

I was hesitant at first to invest in platforms because I usually encounter those heavy ones but this pair, ain’t like them. This pair indeed an exception, and I had that heart stopping feeling when I tried them on
(shoe instinct,I call it) I bet you know that feeling too! ;)

Squeeze The Juice

Watched ZOMBADINGS with my gay friends last Thursday night and I should say, Twa’s a good stress reliever after a long day at work. I don’t usually watch Tagalog movies, not that I hate Filipino films and the like,it’s just that I’m very particular with the stories and the quality of the movies I watch. I’m sorry but I’m keen like that. Going back to the zomba, the movie was Funny specially if you’re someone surrounded with gays like me: It’s WORTH THE SQUEEZE! The story is pretty interesting too.The lesson for me was “If you hate gays, it only mean one thing - You might be one of them..chos!!!” :)
Here’s what I wore:

|Evan&Picone Blazer, Forever21 Sheer Top, Androgyny Highwaist Shorts,JellyBean Shoes, Viva Vintage Satchel, Aldo Fringe Earings, Fossil Gold Watch, Rings and Stud Leather Wrist Band from Robinson’s Dept.Store|

HYPE this look on LOOKBOOK.nu here and on CHICTOPIA here :)
P.S
Thanks for the movie’s subtitle, I was able to understand scenes with straight Beckinese! Awwwwaaaard! :)
Love and kisses from a selfconfessed gay (at heart)

All Mixed Up

Denim Polo: Ralph Lauren | Stripe Intimates: Forever 21

Leopard Harems: What A Girl Wants (WAGW)

Black Pumps: Forever 21

Accessories: Woven Metal Cuff(F21) | Gold Watch (Fossil)| Necklaces and Bangle (SM Accessories) | White and Gold Ring (Parfois) | Peacock and Elephant (SMacc)

Hype this look on LOOKBOOK.nu and CHICTOPIA here and here!

I wore this yesterday for our “Denim Friday” in the office. I chose an outfit that can go from day to night since I will also have a dinner date with my girls on that same day. So there goes my three in one outfit: Denim/Leopard/Stripes in one. Mixing different splice of pattern is totally fun and not to mention addicting too. I should do this more often. What do you guys think? ;)
And..oh I just want to share how this week have been to me. It was hell of a week , been very busy at work: deadlines, pullouts, teachings and same old stuffs which I certainly love doing. I have been blessed to receive an email about another feature. I’m keeping my fingers crossed to that, and hoping that our fashion fairies will continue to boost my self confidence. Can’t wait to have it over so that I could share it to everyone. :)
Happy Long Weekend! Stay Dry and Fabulous! Xx
Love,
Nikki
